ABOUT US


 SANJEEVINI health and social services, 3rd Main, Vidya Nagar, Tumakuru. We started our service in Tumakuru and Surrounding areas of Tumakuru, serving the patients who need blood for various reason and we wish to serve the needy patients to save their lives which we had been doing since from 10 years.

  We have conducted many blood donation camps in colleges, NGO's companies and factories in Tumakuru. We also conducted free camps to check the blood group of people to bring the awareness among the people & students free of cost.

  We supply blood for thalassemia patients HIV affected patients and economically backward people who cannot afford to buy the blood from the blood banks. The patients suffering with Thalassemia, Accident Victims, Cancer patients, patients who undergo operations, victims of fire accidents, earth quake victims, HIV affected patients new born & mothers who delivered baby's need the blood necessarily.

  Tumakuru city alone need 40 to 50 units of blood per day to cater the needs of emergency services. India the total population stands more than 100 crores, but unfortunately only 2% of the population donate blood. Nobody is aware of the necessity of blood donation. The people get to know the importance of blood at the time of necessity of blood when their near and dear ones need it urgently. Many are losing their valuable lives because of unavailability of blood at the time of emergency and many had already lost their lives. So, we appeal to all the people to spread the awareness and donate blood to save the lives of millions.

Post Donation Advice

Drink lots of fluids for next 24 hours

Avoid smoking for one hour & alcohol till after a meal

Don't use elevator to go up immediately after donation as it will make blood rush to your feet & make you dizzy!

If you feel dizzy, lie down & put your feet up. You will be alright in 10-20 mins.





FAQ's


For a whole blood donation, approximately 350 ml to 450 ml of blood is collected. For donations of other blood products, such as platelet or plasma, the amount collected depends on your height, weight and platelet count.

No, One should be free from cold and flu, then only he/she is eligible to donate the blood

After you give blood:
Take the following precautions:

• Maximum water should be intaken
• Keep your bandage on and dry for the next five hours, and do not do heavy exercising or lifting.
• If the needle site starts to bleed, raise your arm straight up and press on the site until the bleeding stops.
• Because you could experience dizziness or loss of strength, use caution if you plan to do anything that could put you or others at risk of harm.
For any hazardous occupation or hobby, follow applicable safety recommendations regarding your return to these activities following a bloodonation.
• Eat healthy meals and consider adding iron-rich foods to your regular diet, or discuss taking an iron supplement with your health care provider, to replace the iron lost with blood donation.
• If you get a bruise: apply cold pack.
• If you get dizzy or lightheaded: Stop what you are doing, lie down, and raise your feet until the feeling passes and you feel well enough to safely resume activities.
• And remember to enjoy the feeling of knowing you have helped save lives!
